Volunteering with Musicare

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! We are a group of Hopkins-affiliated student volunteers with nonprofessional musical training, committed to increasing access to the healing and connective powers of music. All majors are welcome and encouraged to apply.

With Musicare, volunteers will undergo training to learn about our perspective on volunteering and care. Our workshops help volunteers refine repertoire and practice etiquette in preparation to perform all genres of music and interact meaningfully with patients in care. 1. Apply

To become a member of Musicare, we ask for a short "audition" video and a paragraph expressing why you are interested in our club. We'll reach out once your application is processed!

2. Learn

Our training process includes a handbook reading & discussion, in-person workshops, and skill-building sessions to equip volunteers with the skills for patient connection and musical performance.

3. Volunteer

Public Performances: Volunteers perform solo or in groups in large lobby spaces.​

Bedside Performances: Volunteers perform solo or in small groups at the bedside.
